A Gathering of Traditions
Honoring the Laws of Origin and Future Generations
Step into a transformative three-day gathering dedicated to reviving ancient perspectives and forging a harmonious path forward for humanity and the natural world.
Brought together by the International Center for Spiritual and Ancestral Wisdom, esteemed Indigenous Elders, spiritual leaders, and community voices convene in the red rocks to share profound teachings, sacred ceremonies, and vital dialogue.
What might become possible if we gathered to listen—to those who carry ancestral teachings, to one another, and to the Earth that sustains us?
Ancestral Voices Return invites you into three days of connection, ceremony, and conversation about how we live—and what we will leave for those who come after us.
Amid Sedona’s red rocks, Indigenous Elders, wisdom keepers, spiritual leaders, and community voices will share teachings that ask us to remember our responsibilities and bring them into the choices we make today.
Hosted by the International Center for Spiritual and Ancestral Wisdom, the gathering welcomes Adam Yellow Bird DeArmon, Ivan Looking Horse, Jeva Uqualla, Dave Swallow, Guadalupe Lucio Treviño, and Patricio O. Dominguez**. Each brings a distinct voice and perspective to an exploration of peace, reciprocity, cooperation, and care for Mother Earth.
On Friday, we open the council with prayer, welcome, and ancestral teachings. Through the Laws of Origin, we begin to consider the relationships that sustain life: our responsibilities to the land, to our communities, and to future generations. The evening creates space to arrive, listen deeply, and set a shared intention for the days ahead.
On Saturday, we listen to the voices of the ancestors through the Elders and wisdom keepers carrying their teachings forward. Stories, presentations, and council invite reflection on how wisdom becomes a lived practice—in caring for water and land, restoring relationships, and building a cooperative future. As evening falls, a Fire Ceremony brings us together in prayer, gratitude, and intention for Mother Earth and generations yet to come.
On Sunday, the circle opens to the voice of the people. Community members, families, youth, and organizations are invited to share what they are experiencing, what is needed, and what they hope to build together. Listening becomes dialogue; ideas begin to take the shape of relationships, commitments, and possible next steps. A concluding Council of Elders and Wisdom Keepers offers guidance to help carry the weekend’s learning into daily life.
Throughout the gathering, we honor the distinct traditions of those sharing while exploring the responsibilities we hold in common. You are invited to bring your questions, your experience, and your willingness to contribute.
Come to listen. Come to remember. Come to discover what we can create together.

Adam Yellow Bird DeArmon
Founder, International Center for Spiritual and Ancestral Wisdom (ICSAW)
Adam Yellow Bird DeArmon has spent more than two decades working with Indigenous Elders around the world, bringing people together through gatherings, cultural exchange, and education. His work connects ancestral teachings with contemporary life, creating opportunities for communities to listen, learn, and collaborate. In 2007, at the invitation of the Continental Council of Indigenous Elders and Spiritual Guides of the Americas, Adam founded the Eagle Quetzal Condor Confederation Gatherings to extend their work into North America. Through ICSAW, he supports the preservation of ancestral traditions, sacred places, and cultural knowledge, with a commitment to peace, care for Mother Earth, and the well-being of future generations.

Ivan Looking Horse
Lakota Spiritual Leader & Cultural Keeper
Ivan Looking Horse is a Lakota spiritual leader from the Cheyenne River Reservation in South Dakota. Through ceremony, prayer, song, and teaching, he helps sustain Lakota traditions and strengthen the connections between community, cultural identity, and the natural world. His service extends across Lakota communities, supporting families through traditional ceremonies and sharing cultural knowledge with younger generations. He advocates for the preservation of the Lakota language, the honoring of sacred places, and the renewal of the Oceti Sakowin—the Seven Council Fires. At the heart of his message is a responsibility to protect Grandmother Earth, care for children and future generations, and meet one another with kindness. His work invites us to understand ancestral wisdom as a living practice expressed through service, relationship, and respect for life.

Jeva Uqualla
Spiritual Elder & Cultural Ambassador
Jeva Uqualla is a spiritual Elder, cultural guardian, and ambassador from the Havasupai Tribe—the People of the Blue-Green Waters—whose homeland lies within the Grand Canyon. Through teachings and experiential gatherings, Uqualla shares perspectives rooted in his Havasupai heritage, inviting participants into prayer, reflection, and connection. His approach brings together the depth of spiritual practice with the openness of learning through direct experience. At Ancestral Voices Return, he joins fellow Elders and wisdom keepers in exploring how ancestral teachings can deepen our relationships with one another, Mother Earth, and generations yet to come.

Dave Swallow, Jr.
Lakota Elder
Dave Swallow, Jr., whose Lakota name is Wowitan Uha Mani—Walks With Pride, was born and raised on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. His spiritual journey began with a vision in his youth, followed by seven years of vision quest. Rooted in his Lakota heritage, Dave has traveled internationally, meeting people of many cultures and joining them in prayer. His life brings together a deep connection to his homeland and an openness to building relationships across cultural boundaries. At Ancestral Voices Return, he joins fellow Elders and wisdom keepers to share perspectives on ancestral responsibility, community, and our relationship with Mother Earth.

Patricio O. Dominguez
Spiritual Guide & Keeper of Traditional Knowledge
Patricio O. Dominguez grew up in a small traditional community, surrounded by the teachings of his parents, grandparents, and great-grandmother. His early understanding of healing was shaped by his great-grandmother’s knowledge of herbs and his grandmother’s practice of healing through touch. Blessed in a public ceremony at the age of five in recognition of his spiritual path, Patricio went on to become a leader of an urban Kiva Society. His work has included helping establish the Confederation of Indigenous Elders and Priests of America, an organization connected to the Eagle Quetzal Condor gatherings. Through his involvement in councils and organizations devoted to traditional knowledge, Patricio helps connect ancestral wisdom with contemporary life, encouraging a deeper relationship with the natural and spiritual world and care for future generations.

Guadalupe
The One Who Creates Oneself
Guadalupe was born into humble circumstances, the second of four siblings. At the age of ten, her father was no longer part of her life, and from that young age she experienced the great love and care of her humble and loving mother. Through what she learned from her mother, Guadalupe resolved not to follow the same path. She studied and prepared herself for life, never imagining the many unexpected challenges that would lie ahead. She survived the devastating 1985 earthquake in Mexico City, the sudden death of her fiancé in 1989, the death of her mother in 1991, and the dissolution of her marriage in 1998. In 2005, through divine energy, Guadalupe was able to heal herself from a serious illness. In 2011, she experienced the kidnapping and disappearance of her younger sister, whom she loved like a daughter. From childhood, Guadalupe was never truly alone, although she understands that only now. For as long as she can remember, she has received messages, premonitions, teachings, and glimpses of future events through dreams. This led her, at a very young age, to explore books and ancestral wisdom. She eventually dedicated her life to the art of Moyocoyani—“the one who creates oneself,” cultivating oneself through one’s own efforts to become a better person—and to Toltecáyotl, placing these teachings at the service of others through healing therapies.
