This practice alternates between yin postures on the ground and strap-supported yoga asanas, combining gentle movement with the therapeutic benefits of suspension — offering deep healing for all levels of experience.

Insight · Worth Knowing Anyway
The Strap Has Yogic Precedent
Using a support to get deeper into a pose isn't a modern shortcut — it has real lineage.
Props Aren't New
B.K.S. Iyengar pioneered the use of ropes, walls, and belts in yoga practice in the mid-20th century specifically so more bodies — injured, aging, or simply less flexible — could safely access postures once reserved for advanced practitioners.
Traction Has Real Mechanics
Spinal decompression through gentle traction can temporarily increase the space between vertebrae, which is the same principle inversion tables and some physical therapy devices rely on.
A Guarded Lineage
The Bharati Lineage Greg trains in traces back through the Himalayan Yoga Tradition, transmitted teacher-to-student for generations rather than through standardized modern certification.
Why Attend
Why Attend
Deep healing for the spine and nervous system, suitable for all levels.
Traction
Promotes natural spinal decompression and relieves back pain through spinal extension and traction.
Alignment
Achieve optimal posture and support for the musculoskeletal system, releasing tension and supporting joint health.
Relaxation
Experience profound calm as your body unwinds, with inversion postures that help stimulate circulation and grounding stability.
Special Instructions
Before yoususpend
A few small preparations — so the straps can do their work safely and well.
Arrive early
Please arrive 10 minutes before class so you have time to get fitted to a wall station and set up your straps before we begin.
What to wear
Fitted, stretchy clothing that covers your underarms and the backs of your knees — the straps can pinch bare skin. Avoid loose or baggy layers that could tangle.
What to mention
Let your teacher know beforehand about any back, neck, or shoulder conditions (like sciatica or scoliosis) — this practice is therapeutic for many of these, but poses can always be adapted to your body.
Testimonials
Voices from the Room
I have chronic lower back pain and this class has done more for it than months of physical therapy. Greg really knows the spine.
The traction from the straps is unreal — I leave feeling two inches taller and completely decompressed.
Greg's knowledge is on another level. This is unlike any yoga class I've taken in Sedona.
